Mission
Our mission is to eliminate health disparities related to race, place, and socioeconomic position.
Methods
We are a 501(c)3 non-profit that produces live, cook-along demonstrations of delicious, healthy recipes with short preparation times (30-45 minutes) and low-cost ingredients (less than the cost of a combo meal per serving). Our cooking demonstrations are evidence-based and geared towards people who are at risk for or who have diabetes and/or hypertension.
Amaris Williams, PhD
Founder and President
Founder and President, Dr. Amaris Williams, has a PhD in nutrition sciences and formal culinary education. Her passion is health equity–she wants everyone to be able to live long, healthy lives no matter where they live, how much they make, or what they look like. Dr. Williams founded Eat to Treat to make this dream a reality, applying her knowledge of nutrition, her love of good food, and her dedication to service. She evaluates all recipes for flavor, nutrition, and appropriateness for people with chronic conditions. Dr. Williams then prepares the recipes in live, cook-along demonstrations. Join her as she wows your taste buds with proof that healthy can and should be delicious.
